UNICO Pig Roast

The Scranton Chapter of UNICO National held its January meeting at the historic Victor Alfieri Society in West Scranton. UNICO member and Victor Alfieri President Joe DeAntona gave the welcome. Father Sam Ferretti gave the Blessing. Chapter President Joe Guido updated the 110 attendees on all upcoming events, most immediate being the 50^th Annual UNICO Charity Ball. Induction of new members was conducted with PNP Al Dante serving as Inducting Officer.

The Scranton Chapter of UNICO National recently conducted its annual Veteran’s Day salute to the Veterans residing at the Gino Merli Veteran’s Home of Northeast PA.

Along with several rounds of Bingo with cash prizes, the veterans were treated to ice cream and cake. The Scranton UNICO Blood Drive Committee recently met to plan this year’s Annual Spring Blood Drive. The Drive is scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Saint Lucy’s Church. This will be the 7^th annual Blood Drive for the Scranton Chapter. Pictured is the Blood Drive Committee. The Scranton Chapter of UNICO National recently conducted its February Meeting/ Valentine Social at the newly renovated Fiorelli’s Banquet Hall in Peckville.

Lou Cossa and Nancy Graziano of “Solo Tu” entertained, with both dinner and dancing music. President Joe Guido conducted the meeting and Al Dante was the inducting officer for new members. A Red Carnations was given to All Ladies Present.

Saint Joseph’s Festival 2009

The Scranton Chapter of UNICO National and its Ladies Auxiliary volunteered at Saint Joseph’s Annual Festival again this year. Members of both the Chapter and the Ladies Auxiliary serviced both the Bakery Tent and the Pizza Fritta Stand.
